 Pharmacological effects

 

Cefotaxime sodium is the third generation semi-synthetic cephalosporin, and its effect on gram-positive bacteria is not as good as that of cefazolin. Enterococcus is resistant to this product, and it is ineffective against penicillin-resistant pneumococcus. However, it has strong bactericidal activity against gram-negative bacteria, stronger antibacterial action against Escherichia coli, influenzae, pneumobacter, Proteus mirabilis and Salmonella than cefoperazone, weak action or drug resistance to Bacteroides fragile, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Enterobacter cloacae are not sensitive to this product.

 

Indications

 

This product is suitable for infection of respiratory tract, urinary tract, bone and joint, skin and soft tissue, abdominal cavity, biliary tract, facial features, genitalia and other parts caused by sensitive bacteria. It is also effective for infection caused by burn and trauma, sepsis and central infection. In particular, infantile meningitis can be used as a drug of choice
Usage and dosage

Grown man

 

 

General infection: 1g per session, every 12 hours.

 

Moderate and severe infection: 1 to 2g at a time, every 8 hours.

 

Severe infections such as sepsis: 2g every time, every 6 to 8 hours.

 

Gonorrhea: 1g intramuscular injection (only once).

 

Children (1 month to 12 years old)

 

50180mg/kg daily, divided into 46 times.

 

Renal insufficiency

 

For creatinine clearance <20ml/ min, the dosage should be halved.
