1. Basic information
English name: Montelukast Sodium Tablets.
Properties: light yellow special-shaped film coating.
2. Indications
This product is indicated for the prevention and long-term treatment of asthma in adults aged 15 years and older, including the prevention of daytime and nighttime asthma symptoms, the treatment of aspirin-sensitive asthma patients, and the prevention of exercise-induced bronchoconstriction.
It is also recommended for adults 15 years of age and older to reduce symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis.
3. Usage and dosage
Take one tablet (10mg) once daily for patients 15 years and older with asthma and/or seasonal allergic rhinitis.
Asthma patients should take it before bed.
Seasonal allergic rhinitis patients can take medicine as needed according to their own conditions.
Drug interaction
This product can be used in combination with other drugs commonly used for the prevention and long-term treatment of asthma and for the treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis.
In drug interaction studies, recommended doses of this product did not produce clinically meaningful pharmacokinetic effects on theophylline, oral contraceptives (ethinestradiol/Norethinone 35/1), terphenadine, digoxin, and warfarin.
5. Adverse reactions
This product is generally well tolerated, adverse effects are mild, and termination of treatment is usually not required.
Common adverse events included abdominal pain and headache, but the incidence of these adverse events was not significantly different from that of placebo.
The following adverse reactions have been reported after marketing: infection, infection, upper respiratory tract infection, blood pressure and lymphatic system disorders (increased bleeding tendency), immune system disorders (including hypersensitivity of allergic reactions, rare hepatic eosinophilic infiltration).
6. Taboo
Allergy to any ingredient in this product is prohibited.
The efficacy of oral administration of this product for the treatment of acute asthma attacks has not been established and therefore should not be used for the treatment of acute asthma attacks.
7. Use drugs for special groups
Children: Safety and efficacy studies have been conducted in children aged 6 months to 14 years. For children aged 2 to 14 years, see Montelukast sodium chewable tablets for usage and dosage. Safety and efficacy have not been studied in children younger than 6 months of age. Studies have shown that this product does not affect the growth rate of children.
Pregnant and lactating women: There are no studies on pregnant women, and pregnant women should avoid taking this product unless they clearly need to take medication. Global post-marketing experience has shown that rare congenital limb defects in newborns have been reported after the use of this product during pregnancy. The vast majority of these women also used other asthma medications during pregnancy. A causal relationship between the use of this product and these events has not been established. It is not clear whether this product can be secreted from breast milk, since many drugs can be secreted from breast milk, breastfeeding women should use this product with caution.
Elderly: In clinical studies, there was no age difference in the efficacy and safety of this product.
