2. Indications
Acute spasmodic pain caused by dysfunction of the digestive system and biliary tract.
Acute spastic colic of urethra, bladder and kidney.
Gynecologic spasmodic pain.
Adjuvant treatment of uterine contractions during pregnancy.
3. Usage and dosage
Intramuscular or intravenous injection: 12 ampoules per time (usually 40mg phloroglucinol per ampoule), 13 ampoules daily.
Intravenous infusion: The daily dose can be up to 5 ampoules diluted in 5% or 10% glucose injection for intravenous infusion.
Fourth, pharmacological effects
Phloroglucinol can directly act on the smooth muscle of gastrointestinal tract and urogenital tract. It is a myotropic, non-atropine, non-papaverine smooth muscle antispasmolytic.
Compared with other smooth muscle antispasmolytics, phloroglucinol is characterized by no anticholinergic effect. While relieving smooth muscle spasm, phloroglucinol does not produce a series of anticholinergic side effects, does not cause hypotension, rapid heart rate, arrhythmia and other symptoms, and has no effect on cardiovascular function.
Animal pharmacological tests show that it only acts on spastic smooth muscle and has little effect on normal smooth muscle.
5. Adverse reactions
The adverse reactions of phloroglucinol injection are rare, mainly allergic reactions, such as rash, urticaria and so on. A very small number of patients may experience allergic symptoms at the site of medication or elsewhere in the body, such as skin itching, redness, dryness, desquamation, etc. If allergic reactions occur, stop taking the drug immediately and seek medical attention.
